Our visit to Marina Barrage introduced me to one of Singapore’s most fascinating stories: its journey toward water security.
A country once challenged by limited natural water resources built a system to capture rainwater, recycle used water, desalinate seawater, and secure strategic water imports. Today, Marina Barrage itself combines water supply, flood control, and recreation in one piece of infrastructure.
My biggest takeaway wasn’t just about water.
It was about foresight.
Great nations—and great businesses—don’t simply manage today’s problems. They anticipate tomorrow’s needs and build systems today that will still create value generations later.
Scarcity can become a catalyst for innovation when vision meets execution.
